Can women take creatine?
Yes, creatine is safe, well-researched, and beneficial for women. It supports training performance, muscle retention, cognitive function, and even perimenopausal symptoms.
Will creatine cause weight gain or fluid retention?
Creatine may increase water inside the muscle, not under the skin. This is not bloating or fat gain, it’s beneficial for strength, recovery, and performance.
Can I lift weights without getting bulky?
Yes. Women do not have the hormonal profile to build bulky muscle easily. Structured resistance training creates definition, tone, and strength — not excessive size.
Will nutrition and resistance training help me during perimenopause?

What started out as a 12 week lose weight programme culminated into a Bodybuilding Competition. I was in a home gym and Katie designed the workouts to fit with the equipment available. Workouts were described and also had videos available to view.
The weekly checks enabled Katie to adjust eating and workouts.
I finished first in my age group but apparently was too muscular to place in the overall category which Katie had alluded to but we only had 20 weeks from start to finish.
I did eventually go on to win 2 champion bodybuilding events with ICN.
